CBFC Clears Welcome To The Jungle With U/A 16+ Tag After Ordering 14 Major Deletions and Dialogue Modifications

Welcome To The Jungle is all set to release in theatres this Friday, June 26, 2026. However, this time it is making news for a different reason. Just before its release, the film went through the regular censor process with the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). The board cleared the comedy movie with a U/A 16+ rating, but only after the filmmakers agreed to make 14 major changes to the video and dialogue.
On the visual side, the censor board heavily trimmed the glamour elements in the movie’s songs. They ordered the complete removal of sensual bikini scenes, explicit hip-movement dancing, and suggestive close-ups. The report specifically noted that several glamorous shots of lead actresses Disha Patani and Jacqueline Fernandez were cut. Additionally, a vulgar hand gesture was completely removed from the film and replaced with a simple close-up shot of actor Vindu Dara Singh.
The board also ordered many changes to the dialogue to remove insensitive, political, or crude jokes. For example, a line mentioning the “Paani of Kashmir” was deleted entirely. The word “andha” (blind) was replaced with “dheela”, and a rude phrase, “desh ki tatti”, was wiped out. The board also asked the makers to change specific military terms; the mention of the “Gorkha Regiment” was changed to a general question, “Are you from the army?”, and the title “General” was swapped out for “Officer” or “Sir” throughout the script.
After making all these 14 modifications, the producers finally received their official censor certificate on June 20. The final runtime of Welcome To The Jungle is officially locked at 2 hours, 44 minutes, and 50 seconds. Despite the heavy edits, the star-studded family comedy is still seeing massive excitement from fans ahead of its opening weekend.
