Box Office Boost: ‘Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai’ Announces 50% Discount on Opening Day Tickets

The first major Bollywood blockbuster of the season, Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai, is gearing up for its theatrical release this Friday, June 5. Directed by the undisputed king of comedy, David Dhawan, public anticipation for the film is incredibly high. To maximize opening-day momentum and capitalize on the buzz, the makers have introduced an exciting promotional strategy just as advance bookings open across the country.

According to the popular online ticketing platform BookMyShow, audiences can avail of a generous 50% discount on tickets for the film’s opening day. While the lucrative deal is bound to attract massive crowds to the theatres, it does come with a few specific guidelines. The offer is strictly valid only on Friday, June 5, and viewers must purchase a minimum of two tickets to activate the discount. Additionally, the 50% price cut is capped on tickets priced up to Rs. 200. By lowering the entry barrier, the producers aim to drive heavy footfalls and secure a much healthier opening-day box office collection.

This aggressive pricing strategy follows a growing trend in Bollywood marketing. Just two weeks ago, Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions rolled out a similar attractive offer for their romance drama Chand Mera Dil, starring Ananya Panday and Lakshya. For that film, tickets were priced at a flat Rs. 149 for shows before 5:00 PM and Rs. 199 for evening shows.

Produced by Ramesh Taurani of Tips Films, Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai features a star-studded ensemble cast. Varun Dhawan, Mrunal Thakur, and Pooja Hegde lead the line, supported by comedy veterans like Chunky Pandey, Johnny Lever, and Rajpal Yadav. With its laugh-out-loud plot and unbeatable ticket incentive, the film is well-positioned to storm the box office this weekend.
