The promotional campaign for Salman Khan’s upcoming military drama Maatrubhumi (formerly Battle of Galwan) has reached a key milestone. The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) officially granted a U/A 16+ rating to the film’s extended trailer, which features a runtime of 4 minutes and 43 seconds.
Based on the 2020 border clash between India and China, the film previously faced production delays and regulatory scrutiny regarding sensitive geopolitical references. Following recent clearance from government authorities, the certification of its official trailer marks a major step forward for the project’s nationwide marketing rollout.
However, delays in securing the final feature film’s censor certificate have altered the original distribution timeline. While the producers initially aimed for a November 13 release to capitalize on available screen space, sources reveal that date is no longer feasible. The production team and distribution partner Jio Studios are now recalibrating their theatrical strategy, with November 20 and December 11 under consideration as the new target release dates.
