Nick Jonas Hinted at the Lengthy Shoot

Priyanka’s remarks follow comments from her husband, Nick Jonas, who mentioned the film during an interview on The Zach Sang Show while promoting his album Sunday Best.

Priyanka has been shooting for the last 14 months on and off. It’s a South Indian film by SS Rajamouli, who directed RRR. It’s his next big film. It’s gonna be incredible,” Jonas said, highlighting the project’s ambitious scale and Chopra’s extended commitment. Varanasi marks a significant milestone for Priyanka as her comeback to Indian cinema since The Sky Is Pink and her last Telugu film Thoofan.

Director S. S. Rajamouli, globally celebrated for RRR, officially revealed the title Varanasi at Hyderabad’s Globetrotter event in November 2025. The film is slated for a theatrical release on April 7, 2027, aligning with Ram Navami, and is being specially produced for IMAX screenings.
