Veterans filmmaker Subhash Ghai is set to reunite with actor Shreyas Talpade after two decades for the upcoming feature Manya. This collaboration comes at a milestone moment, as Ghai marks 50 years in Indian cinema while his production house, Mukta Arts, celebrates its 48th anniversary.
Ghai has helmed iconic commercial blockbusters like Kalicharan, Karz, Hero, Pardes, and Taal, while also backing acclaimed content-driven features like Iqbal, Black & White, and Joggers’ Park. Through Mukta Arts, he has contributed significantly across film production, distribution, exhibition, and media education. As Mukta Arts enters its next phase, the banner is expanding its creative slate across theatrical features, animated films, web series, and documentaries. Ghai’s future lineup also includes Khalnayak Returns starring Sanjay Dutt and an untitled courtroom drama with Anil Kapoor.
Manya reunites Ghai with Talpade, whom Mukta Arts famously launched in Nagesh Kukunoor’s National Award-winning drama Iqbal. Produced by Mukta Arts and Puneet Aggarwal and directed by Sameer Joshi, Manya is a heartwarming drama centered around a juvenile boy from the slums who turns to theft, offering an empathetic look at his life and circumstances.
