CBFC Clears Drishyam The Conclusion Without Cuts; Film Is 8 Minutes Longer Than Drishyam 2
The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), often known for demanding scene cuts or audio modifications, has continued a remarkably filmmaker-friendly trend. The board passed the upcoming thriller Drishyam The Conclusion with a U/A 16+ rating and zero cuts. The Examining Committee did not demand a single visual trim or audio change. Surprisingly, the board did not even require standard additions like anti-drug warning tickers or translated title credits, issuing a completely clean censor certificate on September 28. This decision follows the CBFC’s recent clearance of the Sidharth Malhotra and Tamannaah Bhatia-starrer The Vvaan, which was also passed without a single cut.
Runtime Breakdown and Franchise Benchmark
According to the official censor certificate, Drishyam The Conclusion features a total runtime of 150 minutes (2 hours and 30 minutes). This makes the final chapter exactly eight minutes longer than Drishyam 2 (2022), which ran for 142 minutes (2 hours and 22 minutes). It now stands as the second-longest entry in the popular crime franchise, behind the 2015 original Drishyam, which clocked in at 162 minutes. Significantly, this marks the second consecutive installment in the series to secure a U/A rating with zero cuts, matching the seamless censor outcome of its predecessor.
Star-Studded Cast and Theatrical Launch
Helmed by director Abhishek Pathak, the film brings back its beloved lead actors alongside a formidable ensemble. The cast includes Ajay Devgn, Tabu, Shriya Saran, Jaideep Ahlawat, Prakash Raj, Rajat Kapoor, Ishita Dutta, Mrunal Jadhav, and Kamlesh Sawant.
The project is produced jointly by Alok Jain, Ajit Andhare, Kumar Mangat Pathak, and Abhishek Pathak. With censor formalities officially cleared and no edits required, the high-stakes final chapter of the Drishyam saga is scheduled for a nationwide theatrical release on October 2.
