Punjabi actor and singer Ammy Virk has officially dismissed viral social media reports claiming his convoy came under fire in Canada following a concert in Abbotsford, British Columbia. Speculation had flared after online posts suggested that shooters targeted a vehicle associated with the artist’s team.
The Abbotsford Police Department quickly clarified that the incident was entirely unrelated to Ammy Virk. On September 5, officers responded to a shooting on McCallum Road, where suspects in a dark SUV fired multiple shots at another vehicle. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. Shortly after, police discovered a fully engulfed SUV nearby, and the Major Crime Unit is currently investigating the connection between the vehicle fire and the targeted shooting.
Taking to Instagram to put his supporters at ease, Ammy Virk asked fans not to fall for false news circulating across media platforms. He shared that by God’s grace, he is completely fine and was not involved in any such dangerous situation. He urged everyone to stop spreading unverified updates regarding his safety during his Canadian tour.
Supporting his statement, the singer’s father, Kuljit Singh, also confirmed that his son and the rest of the family are safe. He further clarified that no shots were directed at Ammy Virk, noting that local reports indicated the gunfire was aimed toward the vehicles belonging to the event’s local organizers instead.
