Courtroom Clash: Ikka Makers Plan Multi-City Fan Screenings to Capture the Big-Screen Craze for Sunny Deol and Akshaye Khanna

Action star Sunny Deol and powerhouse actor Akshaye Khanna are riding an absolute career high. Following the historic, culture-shifting success of Gadar 2, Sunny Deol has consolidated his box-office dominance with the decent collections of Jaat (2025) and the massive success of Border 2 (2026). On the other hand, Akshaye Khanna recently redefined his on-screen villainy with an unforgettable, acclaimed performance as Rehman Dakait in Dhurandhar (2025).
Now, these two acting titans are set to locked horns in the gripping courtroom thriller Ikka. While the film is scheduled for a direct-to-digital global release on Netflix on July 10, 2026, lucky fans might get a rare opportunity to witness this intense face-off on the big screen first.
Massive Fan Screenings in the Works
Speculation began on June 19 when a prominent fan handle, LegendDeols, leaked that exclusive theatrical fan screenings were being organized across 3–4 major cities on July 8, two days before the streaming release.
Trade sources have since confirmed that while the July 8 date isn’t set in stone, special big-screen fan events are actively being planned.
“The makers are indeed planning to show Ikka to fans on the big screen,” an industry insider revealed. “A final decision on the dates and venues will be taken in the coming days. Ikka is a highly commercial, dialogue-heavy film. Watching Sunny Deol and Akshaye Khanna square off in a theater—surrounded by clapping, hoots, and whistles—is an experience the makers want fans to cherish.”
What is Ikka About?
The film marks Sunny Deol’s official debut in a Netflix Original feature. Helmed by director Siddharth P. Malhotra (of Hichki and Maharaj fame), Ikka is a high-stakes legal drama that reunites Deol and Khanna on screen after decades. The story dives deep into themes of morality, historical choices, family dynamics, and the pursuit of justice.
A Powerful Ensemble Cast
Beyond the central face-off, the film relies heavily on a stellar supporting lineup:
Tillotama Shome steps into the shoes of a fiercely determined public prosecutor driving the legal battle. Dia Mirza plays a pivotal role as a wife and mother fighting to keep her family anchored amid the chaos of the high-profile trial.
With the stars in peak form and the promise of a classic, fiery Bollywood courtroom battle, Ikka is shaping up to be one of the biggest digital events of July 2026.
