The Kannada superstar Yash, riding high with a great success with the KGF franchise. As per the recent buzz, he is poised to make his Bollywood debut in Nitesh Tiwari’s ambitious Ramayana. Yash is reportedly charging over ₹150 crore for the role of Ravana, opposite Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama and Sai Pallavi as Sita. The film is expected to begin filming in February 2024.
According to a source close to Yash, the actor decided to take on the Ramayana project to break into Bollywood. Despite having the third part of KGF in the pipeline, he is determined to make time for both industries. The source also revealed that Yash is charging a hefty sum for the role.
He is charging a range of ₹100 crore to ₹150 crore for the film, with a minimum of ₹100 crore,” the source added. “The higher limit depends on the number of days he is required to shoot and the number of schedules.
KGF 3, which is expected to be released in 2025, will begin filming in late 2024. “Yash is determined to manage his time between the two projects,” a source said. “He will have a completely different look in Ramayana from his look in KGF. He has already begun discussing the look and working on his physique to achieve it.”
Another source has denied reports that Ranbir Kapoor is quitting alcohol and meat to play the role of Lord Rama. “These are just speculative pieces to generate buzz about the film,” the source said. “At the moment, Ranbir is focused on the release of Animal, and then he will think about the approach he wants to take for Ramayana.
