Dhurandhar: The Revenge First Review Out Ahead of March 19 Release; Yami Gautam Dhar Calls Sequel “Beyond Extraordinary”

The highly anticipated sequel to the 2024 hit Dhurandhar, titled Dhurandhar: The Revenge, is set to hit theatres on March 19, 2026. Ahead of its release, actor Yami Gautam Dhar shared her emotional reaction to the film, describing it as a profoundly moving experience. Yami, who is married to director Aditya Dhar, also makes a cameo appearance in the sequel. She revealed her thoughts during the News18 Rising Bharat Summit 2026, confirming she has already watched the film.

“I have already watched Dhurandhar 2. It is beyond extraordinary. I was really emotional,” Yami said. She recalled having to catch a flight soon after viewing the film and struggling to express her feelings immediately. “I had to read a script, but I couldn’t. I had to watch something else, but I couldn’t. I just sat watching a beautiful sunset, wondering how I would tell Aditya what I felt once the flight landed.”Yami praised the director’s dedication, saying, “Aditya loves his audience and the country, and he has poured his heart and soul into this film. Dhurandhar 2 will be an experience the audience will never forget.”
Reflecting on the First Film
Yami also spoke about her reaction to the original Dhurandhar, sharing that she had faith in the film’s impact even before its release. While shooting for Article 370, she read the initial script of Dhurandhar and was deeply moved. “It was just 40 pages, but my eyes welled up. I couldn’t say anything—my reaction spoke volumes to Aditya about how I felt,” she said, acknowledging the passion behind the project.
About the Franchise
The Dhurandhar series follows a high-stakes covert counter-terrorism operation, focusing on an Indian intelligence agent who infiltrates criminal and political networks in Karachi to dismantle terror plots against India. The story draws loose inspiration from real-life South Asian events such as the Indian Airlines Flight 814 hijacking, the 2001 Parliament attack, the 2008 Mumbai attacks, and Operation Lyari.The sequel is set to release alongside Yash’s Toxic: A Fairytale For Grown Ups, making March 19 a thrilling day at the box office.
