Following their successful collaboration on The Diplomat, actor John Abraham and director Shivam Nair are joining forces once again for a high-octane action thriller. The upcoming project will feature two equally prominent lead characters, with Abraham locked in for one of the main roles while casting for the parallel lead is currently underway.

The duo previously earned critical and commercial praise for The Diplomat, a film based on the real-life efforts of Indian diplomat J.P. Singh to repatriate an Indian national from Pakistan. Following that success, Abraham and Nair evaluated several concepts before deciding on this action project, which sources describe as the most commercially driven film of Nair’s career. The director is widely known for his work in the espionage genre, including titles such as Naam Shabana, Special OPS, and Mukhbir.

The currently untitled film is slated to enter production by the end of this year, with the makers targeting a theatrical release in late 2027.

This project adds to Abraham’s upcoming lineup of ensemble and multi-lead films. He will next appear in Rohit Shetty’s IPS Maria, a biographical drama based on former Mumbai Police Commissioner Rakesh Maria. Additionally, he is set to star alongside Harshvardhan Rane in the Bhav Dhulia-directed Force 3, which is finishing production ahead of its scheduled release on March 19, 2027.
