Bhooth Bangla Final Runtime Set at 164 Minutes; Receives UA 16+ Rating After Revisions
As the countdown to its release begins, the final version of the Akshay Kumar-led horror comedy Bhooth Bangla has been locked. Following a series of voluntary edits and suggestions from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) on April 11, the film has been granted a UA 16+ certificate.
Significant Trims to Pace the Narrative
The film’s duration has seen a notable reduction to ensure a tighter cinematic experience. First comes as the Final Runtime of the film, which comes to 164 minutes and 52 seconds (2 hours, 44 minutes, and 52 seconds). However, there is a reduction. The team implemented fresh edits that shaved off 10 minutes and 5 seconds from the version initially certified on April 2. Lastly, there is a scene cuts, which comes to be a total of 63 scenes were trimmed or removed. This includes a 72-second sequence from the song ‘O Sundari’ and a 27-second cut from ‘O Re O Sawariya.’
Censor Board Modifications
Beyond the voluntary trims for length, the CBFC’s Examining Committee requested several content modifications to secure the UA 16+ rating. It has the language which remains Obscene or objectionable as far as the dialogue of the movie at the 26-minute and one-hour marks was replaced or removed, including a specific subtitle correction toward the end of the film. A denigrating reference to women in the first half was replaced. The makers have been mandated to include clear disclaimers regarding religious and superstitious elements depicted in the story.
Countdown to Release
With the administrative formalities complete, the film is now ready for its multi-stage rollout:

- Paid Previews: Scheduled for April 16.
- Grand Release: Worldwide theatrical rollout on April 17.
