Aanand L Rai-Backed Romantic Comedy Nakhrewaalii Slated for October 30 Release

Producers Jio Studios and Colour Yellow Productions have officially announced the theatrical release date for their upcoming romantic comedy Nakhrewaalii. Starring newcomers Ansh Duggal and Pragati Srivastava, the feature is scheduled to hit cinemas nationwide on October 30, 2026.
Directed by debuting filmmaker Rahul Shanklya and written by Divy Nidhi Sharma, Nakhrewaalii promises a modern take on love, courtship, and evolving relationship dynamics. Positioned uniquely as a “womantic comedy,” the narrative blends humor and romance while examining traditional gender roles, social expectations, and women’s safety through a contemporary lens.
To mark the release date announcement, the makers unveiled a promotional poster featuring the tagline, “Kabhi Kabhi Pyaar Mein Majnu Ko Bhi Laila Banna Padta Hai” (“Sometimes in love, even Majnu has to become Laila”). The tagline hints at a playful role reversal between the lead protagonists, setting the stage for a story where conventional relationship norms are humorously flipped on their head.
The project is backed by high-profile producers Aanand L. Rai and Himanshu Sharma under their Colour Yellow banner in partnership with Jio Studios, continuing their track record of presenting small-town and socially conscious stories tailored for mainstream audiences. Rather than treating modern social issues as heavy-handed subplots, the creators aim to seamlessly weave conversations around gender equality and mutual respect directly into the central love story. With its lead cast and distinct narrative hook, the makers are preparing to launch the official trailer shortly, which will provide a deeper look into the film’s storyline, music, and character arcs.
Positioned as a fresh and lighthearted pre-festival entertainer, Nakhrewaalii aims to spark meaningful conversations around contemporary relationships while delivering classic romantic comedy beats when it arrives in theaters on October 30.
