Sony LIV Unveils First Look for ‘Scam 2010’; Hansal Mehta-Helmed Series Set for January 2027 Premiere

Sony LIV has officially released the first-look assets for Scam 2010, the third installment in its critically acclaimed investigative drama franchise. Directed by Hansal Mehta and produced jointly by Applause Entertainment and Birla Studios, the upcoming series stars actor Siddharth Bodke in the lead role. The streaming network confirmed that the show is scheduled for an exclusive global premiere in January 2027.

The project follows the widespread commercial and critical success of Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story (2020), which established the streaming franchise as a benchmark for biographical crime dramas in Indian digital media.

Speaking about leading the new series, Siddharth Bodke described the character preparation as one of the most demanding phases of his professional career, emphasizing his focus on uncovering the complex motivations behind the real-life figure.

“Playing the lead character in Scam 2010 has honestly been one of the most challenging and special experiences of my career,” Bodke stated. “What interested me the most was understanding the man behind the image. We all know the larger-than-life personality, but I wanted to explore who he really was, what drove him, and why he made the choices he did.”

Bodke also expressed gratitude for collaborating with director Hansal Mehta while acknowledging the expectations attached to the established brand. “I’ve lived with this character for a long time, and the process has taught me so much. Working with Hansal sir has been an incredible learning experience. The Scam series already has such a strong legacy, and being trusted to take that forward is a huge responsibility,” he added.

Scam 2010 marks Hansal Mehta’s directorial return to the series framework. With principal production finalized, Sony LIV is positioning the investigative drama as one of its flagship digital originals slated for early 2027.
