Epic Beyond Boundaries: Ramayana Sets Historic Global ScreenX Release

Nitesh Tiwari’s highly anticipated cinematic adaptation Ramayana is gearing up for a monumental global premiere this Diwali, marking a groundbreaking milestone for Indian cinema. In a historic deal with CJ 4DPLEX, the magnum opus will become the first Indian film to ever release in the revolutionary ScreenX format worldwide. Set to play across nearly 1,300 ScreenX and 4DX auditoriums globally, the epic saga promises an unprecedented visual spectacle that expands traditional storytelling into an immersive sensory adventure.
The revolutionary ScreenX format expands selected action sequences and emotional dramatic beats onto the side walls of the theater, creating an astonishing 270-degree panoramic field of view that pulls audiences directly into the narrative. To elevate the cinematic journey further, the simultaneous 4DX release will synchronize environmental effects like wind, snow, and scent with motion-enabled seating. This dual-format strategy follows the massive success of Sony’s Spider-Man: Brand New Day, setting a new standard for Indian visual effects and scale.
Produced by Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios alongside Monster Mind Creations, the film features an exceptional ensemble cast anchored by Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana, Sunny Deol as Hanuman, and Ravie Dubey as Lakshmana. With visual effects powered by DNEG, action orchestrated by Hollywood veterans Terry Notary and Guy Norris, and a score composed by legends Hans Zimmer and A.R. Rahman, the production represents an ambitious convergence of global talent.
As the first installment of a planned two-part franchise, this Diwali 2026 release sets the stage for the second chapter arriving in 2027. By pairing timeless ancient lore with cutting-edge technology, Ramayana is poised to redefine premium theatrical experiences on a truly global scale.
