Baby Do Die Do Teaser: Huma Qureshi Steps Into the Quirky, Dark World of India’s First “Desi” Hitwoman

The makers of Baby Do Die Do have officially dropped the highly anticipated teaser for the film, offering audiences a thrilling look into the dark, eccentric, and unpredictable life of Baby KarMarKar. Fronted by Huma Qureshi, the project is generating major buzz for its unique blend of neo-noir crime, suspense, and dark comedy set against a rain-drenched Mumbai landscape.
A Mysterious, Silent Assassin Under a Red Umbrella
The 90-second teaser introduces Baby KarMarKar as a ruthlessly effective contract killer—touted as India’s first “desi” hitwoman. Interestingly, the footage reveals that the protagonist is a deaf-mute assassin out for revenge, tracking her journey across a 15-year timeline from childhood to the present day.
Instead of spelling out her entire backstory, the teaser focuses heavily on establishing a gripping, atmospheric mystery. In a standout sequence, a heavily disguised Huma is seen traveling completely unnoticed through Mumbai local trains and crowded bus stops during the monsoon. When she is targeted by catcallers late at night, she pulls out a folded red umbrella, which serves as her signature weapon of choice.
An Unforgettable Ensemble Cast
Beyond Huma Qureshi’s silent, deadly title character, the teaser introduces a colorful and eccentric lineup of characters who inhabit her chaotic universe. The mystery-thriller boasts a stellar ensemble cast, including Sikander Kher, Chunky Panday (appearing as a police officer), Seema Pahwa, Rachit Singh, and Marudhar Shekhawat.
Director Nachiket Samant mirrored this excitement, adding that Baby Do Die Do is as much about the strange world surrounding the protagonist as it is about her individual mission. Every character brings a distinct energy to the puzzle, creating a delicious sense of chaos where danger and satire coexist.
The film marks a new milestone for Huma Qureshi, who is making her debut as a producer alongside her brother Saqib Saleem under their newly launched banner, Saleem Siblings, in association with Pune 04 Films.
Baby Do Die Do is officially slated for a nationwide theatrical release on July 3, 2026. Trade analysts note that the film is heading toward an exciting box-office face-off, as Yash Raj Films’ highly anticipated spy-thriller Alpha, starring Alia Bhatt and Sharvari, is also rumored to hit theaters on the exact same day.
