Akka Teaser Out: Netflix Confirms October 30 Premiere for Keerthy Suresh and Radhika Apte Starrer
Netflix has officially released the teaser for Akka, its highly anticipated series starring Keerthy Suresh and Radhika Apte. Dropped on October 17 to celebrate Keerthy Suresh’s birthday, the teaser introduces the two powerhouses as Bhavani and Rudra in Pernuru—a fictional 1980s kingdom shaped by shifting power dynamics, deep-seated rivalries, and women who govern and protect its land.
Produced by YRF Entertainment, the female-led gangster saga is set to premiere globally on October 30, 2026. Written and directed by debutant Dharmaraj Shetty, the series also features veteran actor Tanvi Azmi in a prominent role.
Keerthy Suresh on Playing Bhavani
Marking her first project with both Netflix and YRF Entertainment, Keerthy Suresh called unveiling the teaser on her birthday a special moment.
“Bhavani is one of the most unique and memorable characters I have had the opportunity to play. It was lovely working with Radhika. Our characters bring such compelling dynamics to the story and the interplay between them adds an intriguing edge to the narrative,” Keerthy shared, adding that she looks forward to audiences discovering the many layers of her character.
Radhika Apte on Her Character Rudra
Radhika Apte, a frequent Netflix collaborator, expressed her excitement about working with YRF Entertainment on a project featuring complex, layered women.
“Rudra is a fascinating character, driven by her own convictions and an instinct to challenge the world around her. What drew me to the series was the complexity of its characters and the tensions that emerge from their differing perspectives,” Apte stated. She also added that celebrating the teaser launch on Keerthy’s birthday felt like a lucky sign for the team.
