Rohit Shetty Confirms Golmaal 5 Cast and Unveils Whistle-Worthy Release Date Poster
Filmmaker Rohit Shetty has officially confirmed that Golmaal 5 is underway, ending months of intense speculation. On September 19, the director shared an energetic motion poster featuring the core cast set to the franchise’s iconic whistle background score. Shetty also announced that the highly anticipated comedy film will hit theaters nationwide on January 8, 2027.
The announcement comes nine years after the release of the fourth installment, Golmaal Again. Taking to Instagram, Shetty captioned the motion poster with the words, “LAUGHTER, FUN, JOY, HAPPINESS AND FAMILY… BAS, NOTHING ELSE.”

What makes Golmaal 5 especially significant for fans is the complete reunion of the original gang. Sharman Joshi returns to the franchise for the first time since the original 2006 film Golmaal: Fun Unlimited.

Details regarding the female lead cast are currently being kept secret. Over the franchise’s history, Kareena Kapoor Khan remains the only actress to star in two installments (Golmaal Returns and Golmaal 3). Meanwhile, 2017’s Golmaal Again featured Parineeti Chopra alongside Tabu in a horror-comedy setting.
Hints of a fifth film originally surfaced as early as 2018, when members of the Golmaal cast made a cameo in the ‘Aankh Maare’ song video from Shetty’s Simmba, holding up five fingers to hint at a future sequel.
With the release date locked for January 8, 2027, and the original main cast fully reunited, momentum for Golmaal 5 is set to build steadily as production begins.
