Mirzapur: The Movie brings back familiar faces, resurrects dead characters, and adds a fresh crop of actors to its blood-soaked world. This year, Hindi cinema is packed with big releases like Ramayana: Part 1, Shah Rukh Khan’s King, Ajay Devgn’s Drishyam 3, and Akshay Kumar’s Golmaal 5. However, Mirzapur: The Movie stands out due to its unique jump from a popular OTT series to the big screen.
Releasing in theaters on September 4, the film is not a direct continuation of the Prime Video show. Instead, it places the core characters into an entirely new storyline. While Kaleen Bhaiya (Pankaj Tripathi), Guddu (Ali Fazal), Golu (Shweta Tripathi), and Beena (Rasika Dugal) return, fan favorites who were killed off including Munna (Divyenndu), Sweety (Shriya Pilgaonkar), Bauji (Kulbhushan Kharbanda), and Compounder (Abhishek Banerjee) are also making a comeback.
Directed by Gurmmeet Singh, the movie introduces several new actors and a major recasting for a key role. Here is a look at the fresh faces joining the big-screen action:
- Ravi Kishan (Babban Babua Yadav): The actor-politician has built a strong career across multiple industries. After early Bollywood roles in movies like Tere Naam and Phir Hera Pheri, he became a Bhojpuri superstar before returning to prominent Hindi projects like Laapataa Ladies and Khakee: The Bihar Chapter.
- Jitendra Kumar (Bablu Pandit): The Panchayat and Kota Factory star steps in to replace Vikrant Massey as Bablu Pandit, Guddu’s younger brother. Known widely for his popular work with TVF, his film credits include Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan and Jaadugar.
- Sushant Singh (Bhairav Singh Karnawat): A veteran actor who debuted in Ram Gopal Varma’s Satya, Singh has starred in films like The Legend of Bhagat Singh and Sehar. He is also known for hosting TV’s Savdhaan India and appearing in OTT series like Rana Naidu.
- Mohit Malik (Birju Lohar): Playing a rugged new role, Malik made his film debut in Azaad (2025) after a long, successful career on television in shows like Doli Armaano Ki and Kullfi Kumarr Bajewala.
- Sonal Chauhan (Mumtaz Bibi): Famous for her hit debut in Jannat (2008), the former beauty queen has acted in Hindi films like .. Hoga Terra Baap as well as major Telugu hits like Legend and The Ghost.
