Alia Bhatt is set to dive into the young adult genre with her next production under Eternal Sunshine Pictures, in partnership with Amazon Prime Video and Chalkboard Entertainment, according to a report by Peeping Moon. The untitled film promises a vibrant coming-of-age story, set against the dynamic backdrop of an Indian college campus.
The film will mark the directorial debut of Sreeti Mukerji, who previously assisted Ayan Mukerji on Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani and Brahmastra. Sources describe the narrative as reminiscent of Wake Up Sid, but uniquely told from a girl’s perspective. This fresh take aims to explore themes of youth, aspirations, and personal growth. Filming is slated to begin in October. This project is Alia Bhatt’s first feature film collaboration with Amazon Prime Video, following her executive producer role on Richie Mehta’s acclaimed crime drama series Poacher.
Reflecting on her producing journey, Alia has shared, “Producing content allows me to tell the stories I believe in and champion fresh voices in filmmaking.” Alia’s production debut came with Netflix’s Darlings in 2022. She is also producing the adaptation of Manju Kapur’s novel Difficult Daughters, directed by her mother, Soni Razdan. On the acting front, Alia will next appear alongside Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War, expected to wrap filming by December for a June 2026 release.
She is also set to star in Maddock Films’ horror-comedy Chamunda in 2026 and is in talks with director Nag Ashwin (Kalki 2898 AD) for a high-concept, female-led project.
