Karan Johar Hits Back at Troll Calling Him ‘Nepo Kid ka Daijaan’ Over Saiyaara Praise: ‘Chup Kar’

Director and producer Karan Johar recently took to Instagram to praise debutants Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda for their performances in Saiyaara — and didn’t hold back his emotions. Sharing the film’s poster, Karan called both actors “beyond magical” and hailed the movie as director Mohit Suri’s best work to date.
Karan revealed how deeply the film moved him, saying it brought “tears flowing and yet the feeling of immense joy.” He expressed pride that his alma mater, Yash Raj Films (@yrf), has “brought love back” to the silver screen and the industry. He also lavished praise on Saiyaara’s music, calling it “a character in this film.” Karan gave a shoutout to composer Adi Widhani and producer Aneet Padda, congratulating them on a stellar debut. He described Mohit Suri’s storytelling and craft as “magnificent,” emphasizing how the music supports the narrative profoundly.
Karan’s heartfelt appreciation extended to the lead actors. He described Ahaan Panday’s debut performance as “spectacular,” commending his expressive eyes and emotional depth. About Aneet Padda, he said her silences “spoke volumes” and her vulnerability and strength “moved me to tears.”However, not everyone welcomed Karan’s praise. A troll commented, “A gaya nepo kid ka daijaan (Nanny for nepo kids have come).” Karan fired back firmly, writing, “Chup kar!!! Ghar baithe baithe negativity mat paal! Do bachon ka kaam dekh !! Aur khud kuch kaam kar (Shut up! Don’t breed negativity sitting at home! Watch the work of the two kids!
