Director Amit Rai’s upcoming film, Ohh My Dog, has been cleared by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) with a U/A rating, subject to seven required modifications.
The board’s mandated changes include muting brand mentions such as ‘Truecaller’ and ‘Dettol’, censoring an expletive, blurring a photo frame depicting Lord Hanuman, and shortening a dog scene by two seconds. Additionally, the filmmakers were directed to add two disclaimers addressing child labor and human trafficking, both of which tie into the film’s broader themes.
Speaking about the certification, Rai expressed satisfaction with the outcome, calling the suggested cuts workable and feasible. The smooth process marks a stark contrast to his previous film, OMG 2, which underwent a protracted certification ordeal resulting in nearly 85 cuts and an ‘A’ certificate, restricting access for younger audiences.
Ohh My Dog centers on the deep bond between a young child and his pet, blending humor, emotion, and social commentary. The film boasts an ensemble cast including Pankaj Tripathi, Pawan Malhotra, Maahi Rai, Rajesh Kumar, and Geeta Agrawal Sharma, alongside key canine performers Oscar and Bruno in a production that featured over 250 dogs.
