Anil Kapoor Reveals He Turned Down Dhurandhar: The Revenge Cameo: “It’s My Loss, But…”
Veteran actor Anil Kapoor recently disclosed that he was offered a cameo role in Dhurandhar: The Revenge but had to decline due to prior professional commitments. The sequel to the blockbuster Dhurandhar, directed by Aditya Dhar, originally released on December 5, 2025, and quickly became a major box office hit. The massive scale of the first film and its star-studded ensemble have built high anticipation for the sequel.
Speaking at the India Today Conclave, Kapoor revealed that Dhar personally approached him for a small role in the upcoming film. However, he emphasized his commitment to professionalism as the reason for declining.“Yes, Aditya came to me for Dhurandhar 2. He wanted me to do a small cameo. But the reason I am where I am today is because of my professionalism and commitment.
Talent alone isn’t enough,” Kapoor said.The 69-year-old actor explained, “I had already committed those dates to another filmmaker. I told Aditya, ‘I would have loved to do this cameo, but I’m already booked.’ The film is releasing now, and it’s fantastic. It’s my loss, but it’s okay.
Hopefully, we’ll work together in the future.”Following this revelation, social media buzzed with speculation that Kapoor might have been considered for the mysterious character ‘Bade Sahab,’ whose identity is expected to be unveiled in the sequel. Rumors have also linked Emraan Hashmi to the role, though the makers have yet to confirm any details.
Talking about the film – Dhurandhar: The Revenge stars an ensemble cast including Ranveer Singh, Sanjay Dutt, R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, and Akshaye Khanna.
