R. Madhavan Stealthily Watches ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ at Mumbai’s Chitra Cinema

In a move to witness the raw audience reaction to his latest hit, Dhurandhar: The Revenge, actor R. Madhavan made a surprise, low-profile visit to the iconic Chitra Cinema in Dadar on April 1. Avoiding the more common celebrity haunts like Gaiety-Galaxy, Madhavan opted for the single-screen experience to see how the masses were connecting with the film.

To ensure his presence didn’t cause a stir or safety issues in the crowded theater, the visit was carefully coordinated with exhibitor and distributor Akshaye Rathi. The actor arrived a few minutes after the film had started, disguised in a cap and hoodie. The group was not accompanied by security personnel, making it essential that Madhavan remain unrecognized by the patrons and staff. The theater manager was the only one informed of the high-profile guest’s arrival.

During the interval, a few eagle-eyed fans spotted the actor in the food and beverage area. To prevent a crowd from gathering, Madhavan was quickly moved to the manager’s office until the second half began. He remained in a balcony seat in the back row, strategically placed near the exit to allow for a quick and quiet departure.

The plan was a success, allowing Madhavan to experience the electric atmosphere and cheers of the crowd firsthand before slipping out just before the final credits rolled. According to Akshaye Rathi, the actor was thrilled to see the positive reception, as the “mission” to gauge the film’s impact was accomplished without any disruption to the moviegoing experience.
