Dhurandhar Returns to Cinemas Worldwide as Anticipation Builds for Dhurandhar: The Revenge

Excitement for the Dhurandhar franchise is soaring as the original film makes a rare international theatrical comeback ahead of its sequel’s release. Supported by Jio Studios and B62 Studios, the global blockbuster Dhurandhar is being re-released worldwide, ramping up momentum for Dhurandhar: The Revenge, which premieres on March 19, 2026.The re-release kicked off in India on March 12, screening on approximately 250 screens, and is expanding overseas from March 13 with an additional 250 screens. Altogether, the film will be shown on around 500 screens globally, giving audiences a chance to relive the action-packed spy thriller on the big screen before diving into the next chapter.
For fans, this offers a unique opportunity to watch the original just days before the sequel hits theatres, allowing a thrilling back-to-back viewing experience that rekindles the excitement that made Dhurandhar a major cinematic event. International re-releases of Hindi films are rare, underscoring the franchise’s strong global appeal, particularly in markets like North America where it returns to nearly 185 screens.
Adding to the buzz, Dhurandhar: The Revenge will hold special Wednesday premiere shows across the United States and Canada on March 18, a day ahead of the worldwide release. Many screenings will be on Premium Large Format (PLF) screens featuring immersive Dolby Atmos sound, expansive wall-to-wall visuals, enhanced projection, and luxury seating formats usually reserved for major Hollywood releases.
Early reports show several of these premieres are already sold out.The recently unveiled trailer has generated significant excitement among audiences and industry insiders, with trade analysts and exhibitors predicting a strong international run. Bringing the first film back to cinemas just before the sequel’s release has further amplified fan enthusiasm.
Presented by Jio Studios and produced by B62 Studios, Dhurandhar: The Revenge is written, directed, and produced by Aditya Dhar, with Jyoti Deshpande and Lokesh Dhar also producing. This high-octane spy-action thriller will release worldwide in five languages—Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada.The film’s release aligns with festive occasions like Gudi Padwa, Ugadi, and the lead-up to Eid al-Fitr, setting the stage for the Dhurandhar saga to captivate audiences around the globe once again.
