Fans eagerly awaiting Salman Khan’s Battle Of Galwan may face disappointment as reports suggest the film’s release could be delayed. Despite being slated for an April 17, 2026 release, the shoot is still underway, and the makers are reportedly considering postponing the premiere.
A source told Bollywood Hungama, “Battle Of Galwan is scheduled for April 17, but the shoot isn’t complete yet. Reshoots are taking longer than expected. Starting February 9, a one-week schedule will begin at the Golden Tobacco Factory in Mumbai. After this, a few more shooting days remain, with the wrap expected by the end of February.”
The source added, “Director Apoorva Lakhia will start editing the reshot scenes soon. Additionally, the film must be screened for the Ministry of Defence, which could further delay the process. Given these factors, the makers believe meeting the April 17 deadline is unlikely. Salman Khan is keen that this special patriotic film is given the care it deserves and has advised the team not to rush but focus on delivering a compelling and cinematic final product.”
While Salman Khan and director Apoorva Lakhia are seriously weighing a postponement, no final decision has been made yet. The source noted, “Salman is unpredictable and could still push for an April 17 release, but that appears unlikely. A clearer update is expected in the coming days.”Alongside Salman Khan, who portrays Colonel Bikkumalla Santosh Babu, the film stars Chitrangda Singh.
Battle Of Galwan is based on a chapter from the book India’s Most Fearless 3 (2022) by Shiv Aroor and Rahul Singh, inspired by the June 15, 2020, clash between Indian and Chinese soldiers in the Galwan Valley during the COVID-19 pandemic.
