In the wake of the Indian Armed Forces’ swift response to the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, the operation has been dubbed ‘Operation Sindoor’. Sources indicate that multiple film production companies quickly mobilized, sending representatives to film organizations to register the title Operation Sindoor.

Renowned director Madhur Bhandarkar also joined the fray, registering the title for a potential film later on.Industry experts assert that the title Operation Sindoor possesses significant cinematic appeal, making the competition among producers highly anticipated. They cited successful films based on military operations as precedents, such as Uri – The Surgical Strike (2019), Border (1997), Amaran (2024), and Raazi (2018), which all performed exceptionally well at the box office.
Similarly, films like Lakshya (2004), Shershaah (2021), and Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl (2020) focused on the Kargil War and garnered substantial attention from both audiences and critics. The unexpected competition for the Operation Sindoor title has sparked intense discussions within the film industry. All eyes are now on which producer will ultimately secure the title, as experts believe that the first producer to apply will have the strongest claim under registration rules.
