Akshay Kumar recently announced April 10, 2026, as the release date for his reunion with director Priyadarshan in Bhooth Bangla. Shortly after, we had news on media particularly the Btown portal – Bollywood Hungama, which reported that Salman Khan’s Battle of Galwan is likely to be postponed from its original April 17, 2026 date. This sparked speculation that Battle of Galwan was deliberately avoiding a clash with Bhooth Bangla. However, the truth is rooted in a different story.
Reliable sources reveal that Akshay Kumar and Salman Khan had a candid conversation before any release date changes were made. “Akshay and Salman share a genuine friendship and are transparent with each other about their plans. Unlike the secretive nature often seen among newer actors, these two always keep each other in the loop. Akshay inquired if Battle of Galwan was still set for April 17, and Salman confirmed that the film faced hurdles due to pending Ministry of Defence approvals,” a source told Bollywood Hungama.
Upon hearing this, Akshay shared his intention to release Bhooth Bangla on April 10. “It was a healthy and respectful conversation with no sense of rivalry. Both actors hold great respect for one another and support each other’s successes. Fans shouldn’t be surprised if the right script brings them together in a two-hero film someday,” the source added. As it stands, Bhooth Bangla is scheduled to release on April 10, 2026, while Battle of Galwan is expected to be postponed to the Independence Day weekend in 2026.
