Shahid Kapoor’s O’Romeo is enjoying a decent box office run along with positive word of mouth. Audiences who watched the film were intrigued to see Aamir Khan’s name mentioned in the opening disclaimer, sparking speculation about a possible cameo. However, Aamir does not appear in the film, leading many to wonder about his connection to O’Romeo.
As per Bollywood Hungama, the story behind the special thanks. Director Vishal Bhardwaj shared exclusively, “Aamir wanted to hear the script of O’Romeo. After listening, he suggested that someone should be killed at a crucial point in the film. ”Vishal elaborated, “The idea to kill the lawyer Anjum Ansari (played by Resh Lamba) in the restaurant came from Aamir. This is why I thanked him. That suggestion changed so many things for me. Because after that event, the protagonist Ustara (Shahid Kapoor) becomes drawn to the girl Afshan (Triptii Dimri). He realizes, ‘Oh my God, she can do anything to exact revenge.’ He starts taking her seriously and even nurses her back to health after she is injured.”
He continued, “So the entire love story begins from that turning point. It was a major plot development for me, and that’s why I wanted to thank Aamir from the bottom of my heart.”Alongside Shahid Kapoor, O’Romeo stars Triptii Dimri, Nana Patekar, and Avinash Tiwary, with Vikrant Massey, Tamannaah Bhatia, and Disha Patani making special appearances. The film is produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, who celebrated his 60th birthday on February 18.As for Aamir Khan, he delivered the hit Sitaare Zameen Par (2025) last year and appeared in a cameo in the Rajinikanth-starrer Coolie (2025).
Currently, he is gearing up for Lahore 1947, which features Sunny Deol and Preity Zinta in lead roles, with Aamir in an extended cameo. Directed by Rajkumar Santoshi, the film also stars Ali Fazal and Shabana Azmi. Aamir Khan Productions recently announced that Lahore 1947 will release on August 13, 2026. Before that, the banner plans to release Ek Din on May 1, starring Junaid Khan and marking South sensation Sai Pallavi’s Hindi debut.
