Plot

The film Stree is a horror comedy, which is based on the Indian urban legend called Nale Ba, who happens to be a witch that knocks people out from the door during the late night time. Shraddha plays stree who is the ghost in the film, while others like Rajkummar Rao as Vicky seems to be her victim in it. So, what happens when this Stree is on her job of deserting men out of home by knocking from the door of their homes would be interesting to explore when the film finally hits the screen.

Review

As you sit watching this film, it happens to be more of humor and comedy than a terrifying saga for being a horror comedy film. The makers claim that the film has some deeper mystery message to the audience, which would be disclosed only when you watch this film. Besides, it is also an entertaining film as people come out watching the movie. However, as you dig in more, the combination of humor and horror seems to be working. The horror film that entertains a lot is certainly would be an interesting to catch this weekend. At times, the film becomes predictable for some reason or the other but it really worked well in a proper poise and balance, which is one of the vital things to catch in this movie.

Now, talking about the performances, Rajkummar Rao in his role of Vicky has done a splendid job and he has played his character by neatly understanding the film with great care and professionalism. Shraddha Kapoor seems to be doing better this time, and would be now remembered for a better role rather than playing don’s sister wherein she didn’t suit at all. She has the reason to rejoice as she would be getting away from the type caste character of Haseena Parkar with this film for sure. The other elements like music, editing, screenplay and dialogues seemed okay and would add values to the entertainment value of the film.

Stree The Last Word

The film is more about humor than horror, however, the combination seemed to be working fairly for obvious reasons as the ratio of humor and horror seemed to have worked perfect for the film. It can be a good weekend watch if you love comedy genre films.
