Bio – Sonam Kapoor is an Indian model and actress who was born on 9th June 1985 of Indian Cinema. Born in the prestigious family of Anil Kapoor who happens to be a stable actor in Bollywood, he has embarked as one of the most fashionable and attractive Indian celebrities. She debuted her career in Bollywood as assistant director to Sanjay Leela Bhansali in the movie Black in 2005, while her frist movie was Saawariya opposite Ranbir Kapoor. Though her first movie failed to make its mark in Box office, but her performance in the said movie really earned the nomination under debut category in Filmfare Awards. She then appeared in Delhi 6 in 2009, while her first commercial movie that turned a big hit was I Hate Luv Storys in 2010. In 2013, she gave a big hit in the form of Raanjhana and Bhaag Milkha Bhaag. The later was among the top earned movie, which even nominated her different awards.
Looking at her early life, she comes from Anil Kapoor’s family and a granddaughter of famous filmmaker Surinder Kapoor. Sonam is among the eldest in three children, while her siblings include Rhea Kapoor and brother Harshvardhan. Boney Kapoor, Sandeep Marwah and Sanjay Kapoor are her own uncles who happen to be famous film directors and producers. She is the first cousin of Mohit Marwah, Arjun Kapoor and Ranveer Singh (from her mom’s side). She went to Arya Vidya Mandir for her schooling based in Juhu and then left for her further studies in United World College of South East Asia based in Singapore for her international Baccalaureate. She was there for two years to complete her course and then headed to London to do her studies in Political Science and Economics from University of East London. She is fluent in English, Hindi, Punjabi, Marathi and Urdu and is a trained classical dancer.
Some of her popular movies include Aisha, Players, Bewakoofiyaan, Mausam, Thank You, etc, while her upcoming movies include Khoobsurat and Dolly Ki Doli, while she has also signed a couple of South Indian movies. She has won two awards including Startdust Awards for her role in Sawariya in debut category, while the Golden Kela Awards for the film Aisha under best actress category. Apart from her acting, she also endorses a couple of brands, which include Spice Mobile, Electrolux, Lux, Cera, Colgate Visible White, Mont Blanc and Signature. Currently she is the new face of L’Oreal as international brand ambassador, while other new names that has attached include Oppo Movile and few Jewellery outlets. Also, she participates in several Philanthropy events including the IIFA” charity fashion show and in breast cancer awareness program for Ogaan Cancer Foundation, which she did on her birthday.
