Ever since the film was announced it has gained a good amount of media attention for the obvious reasons. It kept on aggravating with the passage of time particularly the advent of the film’s trailer in the media. It enjoys a good amount of buzz in the media that is likely to translate in good collection at the box office. Biopics are not simple to make as doing justice to the life of a celebrity is not that simple, which we have seen previous such movies failing to impress with too many loopholes. However, with Sanju, your perfection will change as Rajkumar Hirani who happens to be the director of the movie has worked hard on the script to showcase a controversial actor on the silver screen with prudence and wit. So, despite the fact that the life of Sanjay Dutt remains an open book yet the director managed to portray a number of interesting elements that remained under the carpet since long.
In a sense, the audience has several interesting things to catch with the film. The first half though remains slow but as it progresses it becomes more gripping thus giving fewer loo breaks to the audience. The interest created in the film goes up as the film is seen moving from first to the second half. However, the film’s pace somewhere gets hampered to some extent as the climax seemed a bit predictable and something which demanded more from the director. Nevertheless, the overall picture of the film remained interesting and creative to catch. Now, let’s talk about the performances, which remain the UPS of the film. Ranbir Kapoor has simply nailed it with his incredible performance playing Sanjay Dutt on the silver screen. He not only portrayed well with a perfect mannerism but also adopted the tone and accent of the superstar. In fact, in many of the scenes he was not less than Sanjay Dutt.
