What is common in the movies like Maine DIl Tujhko Diya, Tezz, Red Alert, Race, Taxi Number 9211 and Fool and Final? Well, yes, all these movies have one common name, which comes in the form of Sameera Reddy. Sameera is an well established actress of Bollywood apart from the Tollywood world as well. Apart from working in Hindi movies, she has also appeared in Kannada, Malayalam, Bengali and Telugu movies. She hails from Andhra Pradesh of the place called Rajahmundry from a non-movies background. Her father while her father Chintapoli Reddy is a businessperson, while mother is a microbiologist who works with an NGO. Both her siblings Meghna and Suhsma are former VJ, Super model and Bollywood actress and model respectively. She did her schooling from Bombay Scottish School, Mahim, Mumbai and for her college she headed to Mumbai wherein she did her graduation from the known Sydenham College.
When Sameera Reddy moved to Mumbai, she got rid of her ugly and dull look to get an edge over her glam look. Soon she was spotted by a album music director, who gave him the chance to appear in the album of Pankaj Udhas called Aur Aahista in the year 1996. Her glam quotient soon made her recognised by the leading directors of Bollywood, which finally gave her the movie Maine Dil Tujhko Diya wherein Sameera played the lead female role in opposite to Sohail Khan. This followed another set of movies including Musafir, Plan and Darna Mana Hai. Soon she was seen in the Tamil movies starting with Vaaranam Aayiram opposite Surya S Kumar, which turned out to be a big hit over the Box Office. Her character of down to earth and confident girl was appreciated both by her critics and audience. This therefore gave two Telugu movies, which included Jai Chiranjeeva and Narasimhudu. She also did a couple of Bengali movies apart from the south Indian movies.
Apart from acting, Sameera Reddy is also involved in doing a couple of commercials, which is not often a common phenomenon. She was even called as judge for the 2012 Miss Sri Lanka Online Competition. As far as her personal life is concerned, she enjoys the American Talk show called Oprah Winfrey. She got the chance to meet Oprah when the queen visited India at one party being organised by P Godrej at Bombay. The queen was impressed seeing Sameera in a gorgeous saree, which led the TV celebrity from US to get the same as gift. She was among the most eligible spinster in B Town until she got married to a businessman called Akshai Varde on 21st January 2014. Her next movie is a Bollywood movie called Naam, which is directed by Anees Bazmee. The movie is its post production stage, while its release date is still to be disclosed in the media.
