OMG: Shimla police file FIR against Bollywood actor Jeetendra against a sexual assault case

The B Town yesteryear actor called Jeetendra is now in the bad books as he has been booked by the Shimla Police in the case of sexual assault. This happened just after his cousin was seen lodging a complaint accusing the actor of sexually assaulting her 47 years ago when he and her cousin had stayed in a hotel in Shimla. The woman then was around 18 when the incident was occurred. She had mailed her complaint to the DGP of Himachal Pradesh called SR Mardi this February. Jeetu was 28 years at that time, while his real name is Ravi Kapoor.

Umapati Jamwal the Superintendent of Police, Shimla has confirmed about the development to The Indian Express this morning stating that an FIR under the section 354 IPC has been registered at the Chotta Shimla police station. Once the police got the email, they came in touch with the complainant who had even mailed the written complaint to support her version. The woman is now seen recording her statement before the magistrate she has been submit any evidence of the stay of the actor at the hotel.

The SP then informed that the investigations in the complaint is to be carried out in compliance to the old provisions of the section 354 IPC as per the law prevalent in the year 1971 at the time the crime has taken place and not the new and amended provisions. On the other side, the lawyer of Jeetendra has been rejected such allegation calling it ridiculous and baseless. While the Police has claimed that they are yet to get any evidence of their stay in the hotel. The lady said that she was asked by the actor to join him for the shoot and while his stay in the hotel at one night he came drunk joined the twin bed and sexually assaulted the lady. The DGP of HP while talking to the media said that he referred it to the SP Shimla and informed that the police would take the necessary action as per the given situation.
