Neha Kakkar is not an unknown name in B Town, as she happens to be a popular playback singer. She was born in Rishikesh in Uttrakhand on 6th June in 1988 but was brought up in New Delhi, while went to New Holy Public School later left studies in her junior college level after winning the Indian Idol competition season 2. Since her childhood she was keen in singing and thus was seen participating in a number of singing competitions and festivals held in school and college days. Her passion for singing gave her the opportunity to participate in the popular Indian singing competition called Indian Idol in the second season, wherein she secured the first place winning the title for the same.
She is the sister of popular singer Sonu Kakkar, she didn’t receive any formal training in music but is known to sing from the bottom of her heart adding all emotions to her audiences in different performances. She loves Sufi music and considers Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan her ideal along with keeping Sonu Nigam her inspiration. After winning the title for Indian Idol, she got the chance to give an incredible performance in singing in Comedy Circus Ke Tansen coming along with Kapil Sharma. Her performance was applauded by one and all. After winning the title of Indian Idol in 2008, she embarked with her own music album called Neha: The Rock Star, which was composed by Meet Brothers.
Since then it was no looking back her as she kept on singing and trying playback singing for a number of Bollywood numbers. In the year 2012, she sang a song for her favourite star Shah Rukh Khan which turned out to be a big hit on YouTube. Later, this song was called as SRK Anthem. This followed her solo song called Hanju along with the known singer Meiyang Chang. She sang a number of songs in Bollywood movies and some of the popular songs include- Second Hand Jawani from the film called Cocktail starring Saif A Khan and Deepika Padukone, while the title song for Akshay Kumar’s movie Blue was also famous. The song Dhanting Naach given for Shahid Kapoor and Nargis Fakhri, along with the Jadoo Ki Jhappi showcased for Jaqueline Fernandez and Parbhu Deva and finally the song Aaj Blue Hai Paani with Yo Yo Honey Singh for the movie Yaariyan are the hits for her. Her latest release is the song called “London Thumakda” from the Kangana Ranut’s film “Queen”, which was composed by Amit Trivedi.
