If you remember the lead actress of Dhobi Ghat, the film of Kiran Roy and Aamir Khan, then you would certain recognize this lady Monica Dogra. Yes, that was her first debut Bollywood movie, which she did along with Aamir Khan. She hails from America, and is a known singer and actress out there. Her origin, however, is from Kashmir as her parents are immigrants to Baltimore, Maryland. She was born and brought up at this place only, and attended the Elementary School called the Montessori, Dulaney High School, and her college from New York University. She did her bachelor’s in Music from NYU as was inspired by the popular vocalist called Sreetama Ghosh.

Wiki : Monica Dogra career started way behind in 2005 as a guitarist in an electro rock group called Shaa’ir+Func wherein she played with the guitarist called Randolph Correia. In the year 2007, the group embarked with their first album called New Day: The Love Album followed by the Light Tribe in the year 2008 and the Mantis in 2010. The song Dooriyan Bhi Hai Zaroori had her playback singing, which she did with Vishal Dadlani in the Deepika and Imran’s movie called Break Ke Baad. Her journey in Bollywood started with Farhan Akhtar’s movie called Rock On wherein she was seen in the guest appearance role. This, however, gave her the chance to work in Dhobi Ghat as the lead female character.

The very same year (2011), she got the chance to be at the reality talent show called Never Hide Sounds by Rolling Stone. She then hosted the show of Star World India called The Dewarists. In the year 2013, she did a number of shows for the known violinist called Scott Tixier all around the United States. In March 2014, she was on the cover page of FHM Magazine. Currently, she has signed Fireflies, while her movie Mirage is in post production stage, which is likely to hit the theatres in 2015.
