Kriti Kharbanda is a popular actress who is more seen in South Indian films. She comes from North India, New Delhi wherein she was born on 29th October 1988 in a Punjabi family. In her childhood, she shifted to Bangalore with her family in the early nineties wherein she attended the Baldwin Girls High School and later to Bishop Cotton Women’s Christian College and later went to Sri Bhagawan Mahaveer Jain College for her graduation. She then did one year diploma in Jewel designing. During her school and college days, she remained active in cultural programs and also got featured in some of the commercial ads in her student life.
In fact, when Kriti Kharbanda got into college, she entered into modelling wherein she got the campaigns like Fair & Lovely, Spar and Bhima Jewellers. Amidst all her modelling campaigns, she was noticed by one of the NRI directors called Raj Pippala who was looking out for a new face for her film. This paved the way towards her acting career in South Indian films. Though she had no plans to enter the film industry, however, with such an offer at your doorstep, she accepted after her mom encouraged for the same. She started her career in South Indian Cinema with a film called Boni. Though the film got negative review, she managed to get applauds for her performance. She then got a Kannada movie called Chiru, which was again applauded for her performance. Some of her early movies include Teem Maar, Mr. Nookayya, Prem Adda, Galaate, OM 3D, Ongole Githa, Tirupati Express, etc.
Some of her recent movies include a Kannada movie called Belli and a Telugu movie called Bruce Lee. Currently she is doing a couple of Kannada movies, which include Minchagi Neenu Baralu, Naa Mechida Huduga, Dalapathy, Sanju Weds Geetha 2 and Papu along with a Tamil movie called Bruce Lee. Though she was nominated in a couple of movies like Googly and Super Ranga for the category of the Best Actress (Critics) at SIIMA along with the Filmfare Award for Best Actress – Kannada but it failed to get the award for the same.
