Ekta Kapoor is an Indian Film and TV film producer. She is the daughter of Jeetendra and Shobha Kapoor and the sister of Tusshar Kapoor a Hindi movie actor. She holds the position of joint MD and the creative director of the popular film production company called as Balaji Telefilms. As far her early life is concerned she was born and brought in Mumbai and did her schooling from the famous school called Bombay Scottish School, which is based in Mahim, and went to Mithibai College for her graduation. Ekta can be called rightly as the reigning queen of TV industry in India.

She was born in the year 1975 on 7th June at a very reputed family of Bollywood. During her academics, she was least interested in her studies and soon left her education in between to join his father in the TV serial business at the age of 19 years. With her efforts and creativity, she soon changed the entire face of TV world and completely dominated this segment single handed way. Her company Balaji Films has produced more than 25 successful TV serials for various channels in India, which every single serial is being telecasted four times on an average daily. Some of her popular serials include Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Kahiin To Hoga, Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki, Kahin Kisii Roz, Kavyanjali, Kyaa Hoga Nimmo Kaa, Kasamh Se, Kasautii Zindagi Kay, Kutumb, Kkusum, Kundali and Kalash. Her serial Kyuki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi was maximum amount of TRP in the industry, which kept the serial stretched for several years.
Ekta Kapoor then headed to film production and thus was seen making a number of movies. In the year 2005, she made her fist movie called Kyaa Kool Hai Hum, wherein she brought up her brother Tusshar Kapoor. The movie became a big hit and was among the top grosser of the year 2005. In the year 2010 and 2011, she embarked with another set of movies called Ragini MMS and The Dirty Picture respectively. Her other movies include Shootout at Lokhandwala, EMI, Mission Istanbul and Liya Hai Toh Chukana Parega (produced in collaboration with Sunil Shetty).
In the year 2010 to 2014, she had come up with a number of movies, which include Love Sex aur Dhokha, Shor in the City, Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai, Ek Thi Daayan, Lootera, Once Upon a Time In Mumbaai Dobara, Ragini MMS 2, Shaadi Ke Side Effects, Main Tera Hero, Milan Talkies, and Kuku Mathur Ki Jhand Ho Gayi. She has bagged different awards for her different TV soaps and movies, while her work and business too had won her a number of other awards as well.
