The third day box office collection of the political-action drama “Article 370,” directed by Aditya Suhas Jambhale, has been estimated to be around ₹9.50 crore nett in India. The film, starring Yami Gautam in the lead role, has garnered a total of ₹22.8 crore in India since its release. “Article 370” hit the cinemas worldwide on February 23 and has been produced by Jyoti Deshpande, Aditya Dhar, and Lokesh Dhar. The storyline revolves around terrorism and corruption in Jammu and Kashmir, with Yami portraying the character of an intelligence officer.

The movie’s trailer portrayed the rise of terrorism in the region, with extremists aiming to seize control. Yami’s character, an NIA officer, is entrusted with a mission in Kashmir, as the government vows to eliminate Article 370 at any cost. Alongside Yami, the film features Priyamani, Arun Govil, and Kiran Karmarkar in pivotal roles. “Article 370” is a venture backed by Jio Studios and Aditya Dhar’s banner B62 Studios and is described as “inspired by true events that shaped the fate of Kashmir.”

The film’s release coincides with significant real-world events, as the Central government revoked Article 370 on August 5, 2019, which granted special status to the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir, subsequently dividing it into the union territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.

In a statement reported by news agency PTI, multiplex chains PVR INOX Pictures revealed that the movie is currently being screened in 1,509 theaters, including carefully selected major multiplexes and single screens, with plans to expand its reach by adding more theaters across the country over the weekend.
