Sonia Kaur Bio :
Sonia Kaur is Punjabi actress who hails from Jammu wherein she was born and was brought up in New Delhi. She did her schooling from Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan (in Delhi). While she in her school and wanted to work part time when she was advised by her friends and peers to try my hand at anchoring events. That suggestion gave her the idea to try my luck in films, and soon she signed a short film, Baari, which is yet to be released but certainly opened her innings in the world of acting. After doing several Punjabi films and other similar ventures, including the movie Nikka Zaildar (2016), she is keenly waiting for an opportune moment to enter Bollywood.
As she didn’t want to leave the National Capital and thus acting in Punjabi films came as an easier option to her. She calls Delhi is like another home, and she loves this place. Though she was advised to shift to Mumbai, but she preferred to stay in Delhi. It’s much more comfortable, suitable and lucky for me, considering I got my first film offer in Delhi said the actress. She feels this city has shaped her career and gave her the wings to fly high.
At present, she is honing her skills by reading Punjabi books — as recommended by her directors — to get into the skin of the characters that she portrays on screen. Though I am Sikh, my accent is different from Punjabis, in general, and I am trying to improve on it. I have been attending workshops and taking classes both in Delhi and Punjab.
