Shraddha Kapoor is all set to start shooting for the second biopic in her career. She will be seen playing the role of ace Badminton player Saine Nehwal in the film titled Saina. The movie will be directed by Amole Gupte, who was the creative director of Taare Zameen Par and will be produced by Bhushan Kumar (T-Series).
Earlier, when Shraddha was asked about the biopic by a leading daily, she said, “Most girls would have played badminton at some point in their lives in school. I feel so lucky to be playing Saina, who is not just among the world’s top badminton players, but also a youth icon. I can’t wait to start prepping for my role.”
Now, Shraddha will kickstart the prepping for the film. Talking about it, a source close to the development stated to a tabloid, “Shraddha will begin training in badminton under the guidance of a senior coach from Prakash Padukone’s academy. She will be training at a world-class badminton facility in suburban Mumbai and will practice daily till it’s time to kick off the shoot, which is in a few months.”
Shraddha considers the biopic as one of the most difficult films. She had spoken about it earlier to the tabloid saying, “I’m sure it’s going to be my most difficult film yet as Saina has spent her whole life playing badminton and in the next few months, I have to get close to the standards she’s set.”
Whereas director Amole said, “Besides meeting Saina’s close associates, I gathered videos of her to understand her personality. I’ve also been to the National Sports Club of India (NSCI) to watch her play. Her killer instinct is inspiring, she is the tigress beti of India who has made us proud.”
