The Central Board of Film Certification is damn weird. It’s so difficult to understand what the members are thinking when they are watching a film for certification. That’s because most of the times their decisions are nothing but whimsical. Remember they had issues with Lipstick Under My Burkha for being ‘lady-oriented’? Yes, the same lot has problems with a few words used in Sonakshi Sinha‘s Noor as well. Dalit, Sex toy and Barkha Dutt are the words they don’t want in the film.

According to DNA, CBFC doesn’t want Dalit to be used in the film as it refers to caste system. So the word has been muted, if we go by the source the daily has quoted. They have been asked to omit the name of a liquor brand as well. Also, the words ‘Sex Toy’ has been asked to be changed to ‘Adult site’. Baffling right? Well, we don’t put it past CBFC to come up with such strange diktats to show their might. As for Barkha Dutt, only the first name is allowed. Citing the reason, a member of the board told Quint,

“Referring to real-life characters without their consent is not allowed. We gave them the option of either get the well-known journalist’s permission or to beep out the direct reference to her.” Barkha obviously reacted to the whole situation on Twitter saying, Barkha without the Dutt dear Censor Board is kinda like poori minus channa. More seriously, how bizarre is this decision !! We don’t know how to react to this now.
