After an average start at the box office, the Anees Bazmee’s film called Mubarakan witnessed a decent surge in the first weekend of its release. The film’s collection improved a lot both on Saturday and Sunday. Though the film managed to open with mixed reviews from critics but thanks to the good word of mouth buzz, the performance of the film at the box office seemed to pick up on the first weekend. The film collected 5.50 crores on its opening day (Friday) and soon it showed a good growth of 45 percent on Saturday and Sunday as well.
Talking about the collection on Saturday, the film managed to get a slight improvement and it has collected around 7.25 crores thus taking its total collection to 12.75 crores, while Sunday was simply the best as it collected around 10.25. So, the first weekend box office collection netted to around 23 crore, which is actually a good collection. With good word of mouth buzz, the comedy film had performed much better on its first Sunday as well. Now, let’s talk about the other film releasing the same day – Indu Sarkar.
The film Indu Sarkar is a political drama and it opened up with a meager collection of around 1.25 crore, while on the second day the collection inched a bit high scoring 2.45. The film managed to get a collection of around 3.0 crore on Sunday, which means the first weekend box office collection for Indu Sarkar tolled to around 6.65 crore, which is really low despite the fact the film managed to get lots of attention due to the controversy it has created in the media. With Jab Sejal Met Harry releasing this Friday, Indu Sarkar has a very low chance to score a decent figure making it a flop film.
