Kuku Mathur Ki Jhand Ho Gayi

Cast : Siddharth Gupta, Simran Kaur Mundi, Pallavi Batra, Brijendra Kala, Siddharth Bhardwaj, Ashish Juneja

Review : One of the two movies hitting this Friday is Kuku Mathur Ki Jhandh Ho Gayi directed by Aman Sachdeva, while it is being produced by Ektak Kapoor and Bejoy Nambiar. The lead character of this comedy, drama cum romance movie is played by Siddharth Gupta. If you look at the story line, it can be called as yet another dosti yaari packaged movie, however, the difference lies in its way of presentation, which comes in the complete DIlli Dhaaba style with having the toppings with a local tadka. In this movie, you can find fresh and young star cast, wherein there is no fanfare or frills. No guys to show their six pack abs, no gori kuddis showcasing their dances. Also, there is no amalgamation of Yo Yo style and thus can be called as a simple Aloo Paratha kind movie served along with Lassi.

In the movie, you have two childhood friends Kuku and Ronnie, in their late teen’s life of the two takes a new turn and both of them are seen in two different spheres of the world. Kuku Mathur (played by Siddharth) is a naïve and middle class Delhi guy who lives with strict father (with his mother passed away). He has a dream to own a restaurant. On the other hand there is another guy called Ronnie played by Ashish Juneja who is an easy going cum street smart kind of guy. Both have their only adolescent addiction of sipping fruit beer in a place, which they call as sari ka godown. Once they complete their 12th grade, both are seen busy in their own worlds. Kuku somehow finds a job of spot boy in a small film unit, while Ronnie get engrossed into a family blouse piece business, which makes him avoid his bestest friend Kuku. Soon, you see Kuku’s life falling apart with a bitter fight.

There you get an entry of another man called Prabhakar Bhaiyya played by Amit Sial who is a man with devious solution for each and every problem of the world. Kuku get caught into his ideas and thus his Jhand (foolishness) is seen working out. Well, the director’s plot is simple and straightforward and has not much to offer the audience. However, the jhund the character creates have all the potentials to chortle with lingo and lines. Also, you have much stuff in the movie, which can entertain the audience. For instnac , you have telephonic romance between a guard and his wife, you can find a fraud baba (godman) who is seen selling his spiritual products to people in techno savvy options, while the character of Prabhakar seems extraordinarily entertaining. Both the debutants Siddharth and Ashish seemed decent in their performance, while you can enjoy certain funny scenes and situations.
