Damla Sonmez was born on 3 May 1987 in Istanbul in Turkey. She is brilliant actress and was mostly associated with Turkish films and serials. She grew up in Istanbul and was a bright child in her studies. She studied in Saint Joseph High school in Istanbul. She is well versed with three languages English, Turkish and French. She was always a fan of cinema since her childhood and loved to perform on stage shows which led her to the path of entertainment industry. Damla has studied in Paris for her graduation. She underwent training at a prestigious acting institute in London. She got her first film assignment in the film Kmapuste Ciplak in 2009,
When Damla stepped into acting, her career took a slow but steady turn. She got recognition for her talent with the movie Bornova Bornova (2009). She won the Antalya Golden Orange Awards, Ankara Flying Broom’s Women’s Film Festivals and many others. She also got critical acclaim for the film Mehpyekar-Kosem sultan. She played the role of an Ottoman Emperor Sultan. She show- cased very refined and seasoned acting skills in the film Last Stop: Salvation. Later she acted in the love story titled The Long Story in which she played a complicated role. Then came an off beta film Thou Gildest the Even in which she played an unusual character of a girl who can rule time and make it stop.
