For the B Town audience, it was a busy Friday with too many films releasing the day but not a single movie was seen getting a decent collection. Now, let’s talk about the much hyped movie called Chef. The film starring Saif Ali Khan seen with a steady growth at the box office, which went on to give 1.15 core on the first day. The film witnessed the same kind of collection on the second day with a meager rise on Sunday giving a very low collection at the box office. In fact, the trade experts are surprised to see such a low collection for any worthy movie like Chef, which has collected a decent amount of reviews at the box office.
As per reports, the first weekend box office collection for Chef tolled to around 4.75 crores. The movie, which happens to be the adaptation of a Hollywood film with the same title by Jon Favreau simply failed to attract the audience at a large scale. Although the film has managed to get a decent buzz in the media considering its association with a Hollywood movie and a higher star value. But things have failed and the movie didn’t impress the audience at large. Now talking about the other film, which released on the same day known as Julie 2, which is a sequel of a 2004 movie of Neha Dhupia also fall flat on the ground.
The film has a decent buzz in the media though but it failed to garner a good collection for many reasons. The sequel had mixed reviews, which didn’t give much returns over the box office. As per reports, the first weekend collection for Julie 2 netted to around 2.5 crore, which is really low. On the other side, the last week released movie Judwaa 2 starring Varun Dhawan continued to do a better business which has in a big way posed a big threat for the two films last Friday.
