As we all know, Shraddha Kapoor is busy with the shooting of Haseena Parkar’s biopic, but that’s not it. Yes, she has other movies in her kitty. Shraddha, recently, unveiled a still of her upcoming movie Half Girlfriend and we must admit, she got us all excited. The actress posted a still of the movie on Instagram which had a beautiful backdrop of Bihar, and the still read, ‘While a love story at heart, rural Bihar forms one of the unique backdrop of the film. The Bihar government welcomed the film crew and promised full support to the cast and crew, which allowed for the rural portions of the film to have a more authentic look.’
Well, that is quite a stunning backdrop, we say! It will be interesting to see how Mohit Suri captures the magnificence and rawness of the state. While the movie was extensively shot in Bihar but the cast and crew also shot in New York and New Delhi. Due to the Bihar government’s overwhelming support, Chetan Bhagat had posted a letter of support that he received from the government and wrote, “Delighted Bihar govt so welcoming&responsive. Sharing DyCM@yadavtejashwi supportive letter on Half Girlfriend movie!”
Mohit Suri’s Half Girlfriend is an upcoming Indian romantic comedy based on the 2014 best-selling novel by the same name by writer Chetan Bhagat. Half Girlfriend is a story about a boy who hails from a backward region of Bihar but wants an English-speaking upper class Delhi girl as his girl friend. The movie is slated to release on 19th May, 2017.
