It seems that remixing old songs has become a trend in B Town. After Tamma Tamma and Tu Cheez Badi Hai Masst and Laila o Laila, here comes Gulabi 2.0 which is another oldie remade. Starring Sonakshi Sinha, Gulabi 2.0 is a fun and peppy dance number. Although it isn’t as good as the original track but it’s not bad either! Remixing old songs is a great idea but not everyone can do complete justice to it.
The song is sung by Amaal Mallik, Tulsi Kumar and Yash Narvekar, the lyrics of Gulabi 2.0 are penned down by Kumaar. As long as Gulabi 2.0 is concerned we are not heavily impressed by it but neither are we disappointed. All that we can say is that it’s a fairly average number. You may initially not like it as much, but after listening to it for a couple of times, the song eventually grows on you.
Be it movie posters or trailers, Sonakshi Sinha as Noor has been quite impressive so far and in this newly released song too, the actress manages to woo us with some kickass dance moves. Although we like Gulabi 2.0 we are eagerly looking forward to another song from Noor which is titled MYL. The song brings together Sonakshi, diljit Dosanjh and Badshah for the first time and we are so looking forward to it.
The film is directed by Sunhil Sippy, the story of the film is based on a novel by a Pakistani author Saba Imtiaz called Karachi, You’re Killing Me! Though the novel is based in Karachi, the makers have taken creative liberties with the script and have set the character and locations around in Mumbai, where Sonakshi plays a journalist.
