We see Nawazuddin Siddiqui to be the king of transformations whether it is Sridevi’s Mom and Nandita Das’ Manto. While these two films are being talked about a lot, there is one more film of his that seems quite interesting. It is Kushan Nandy’s Babumoshai Bandookbaz. The poster gave us a glimpse of his back with the actor scratching his bum. He looked like a villager all set for his ‘morning job’ in the fields but with much more swag. He has a transistor for company, you see! The latest is that the teaser will be out in two days.
Well, Nawazuddin is playing a contract killer in the film. It is set in India’s hinterlands with him in a rustic avatar. The film’s shooting started in West Bengal but they had problems with the unit and had to move to Uttar Pradesh to complete the portions. However, what put the film in spotlight was the infamous spat between Kushan Nandy and former lead actress Chitrangada Singh. It was reported that the sultry actress walked out after she was made to do retakes of an intimate scene with Nawaz again and again.
The actor who is known for his earthy persona has excelled in films like Gangs of Wasseypur, Manjhi – The Mountain Man and Paan Singh Tomar, which were based in India’s heartlands. While Chitrangada said that Nawaz was upset with her decision to quit, he later confirmed that nothing ‘unacceptable’ happened on the sets. Kushan had made the thriller 88 Antop Hill and a festival film Humdum. He is the son of Pritish Nandy.
