Talent might maintain an undertone but it will not go unnoticed. Arshad Warsi made a modest entry in Bollywood in 1996 with Tere Mere Sapne which had three other new faces with him. The film was a box office success and fetched the actor films which established him as an actor but no substantial success came his way. Arshad, belonging to a Muslim family, had tried his hand in choreography before his debut in the industry happened. Films like Betabi, Hero Hindustani , Trishakti and Hogi Pyar Ki Jeet all released back to back. The actor’s potential was acknowledged but none of the films gave him the much awaited start in his career. Later he was a part of many other multi starrers and did supporting roles in films like Ghaath, Mujhe Meri Biwi Se Bachaao, Jeetenge Hum, Jaani Dushman: Ek Anokhi Kahani, Waisa Bhi Hota Hai Part II.
It was in 2003 that Arshad was recognized with a character in a film that was the most epoch making in his career. Rajkumar Hirani’s Munna Bhai MBBS in which he played accomplice to the title lead Sanjay Dutt, Circuit, earned him both popularity and critical acclaim and he was rewarded for his hard work for many years in the industry. The character of circuit was an important comic relief in the movie and was also an essential part of the story. The actor began to be known for the role and was reckoned in the mainstream films. He carried on the same impressive performance in the sequel Lage Raho Munna Bhai in the year 2006 . Later comedy became his prowess and he was seen doing it efficiently in films like Hulchul and Salaam Namaste and Maine Pyaar Kyu Kiya. He was stated to be the next comic phenomenon in Bollywood the lack of which was so immensely felt. Golmaal fun unlimited gave him opportunity to put up a brilliant performance. Anthony Kaun ? , Kabul Express, Zamanat, Dhamaal, Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal, sundya , Krazy4 followed and he continued to put up his impressive spontaneous natural acting that became popular. Ishqiya ( 2009)opposite Vidya Balan and Nazruddin Shah was another landmark in his career. Vishal Bharadwaj directed Ishqiya gave him a rustic character which again he played immaculately. The actor took to production and brought out films like Hum Tum aur Ghost ( 2010) and Hungama Hi Hungama ( 2013). Warsi’s last hit was Jolly LLB in 2013.
The sequel to Ishqiya , Dedh Ishqiya has him acting with Madhuri Dixit and also Nazruddin Shah. The film is scheduled to release in Januray 2014. Arshad Warsi has won awards for his performances in Munnabhai M.B.B.S., Hulchul, Lage Raho Munna Bhai and Ishqiya.
